Theobroma Cacao


Theobroma cacao, “food of the gods,” is native to Peru and the Amazon rainforest, where it has been valued for centuries as both a sacred food and a source of nutrition. Cacao is naturally rich in potassium, magnesium, iron, copper and manganese, and its antioxidant capacity (over 55,000 μmol TE ORAC per 100 g in raw form) makes it one of the most powerful superfoods available.

At Villa Andina, we process cacao with care to preserve its nutritional integrity and fine flavour. Our small-scale, low-temperature production line (≤ 300 kg/hour) avoids excessive heat and pressure, ensuring clean-label, traceable products suitable for industrial applications. We offer two main product families: Raw Cacao, minimally processed to preserve bioactive compounds, and Roasted Cacao, gently toasted to enhance flavour and aroma while maintaining nutritional quality.

Raw Cacao

Our Raw Cacao is processed with Villa Andina’s proprietary low-temperature method, which avoids roasting and high-pressure pressing. By controlling heat at every stage, we preserve cacao’s natural antioxidants, minerals and authentic flavour profile. This makes it an excellent clean-label ingredient for superfoods, nutritional supplements and functional product formulations.
